RESIDUAL FLOWS AS RAW MATERIALS FOR VALUABLE PRODUCTS

Second-hand stores have a lot of waste. Disposal of these extra materials costs money. Are you able to convert this waste into valuable products?

There are many possible creative applications for residual flows at second-hand stores.

One possible case is the development of a coat hanger made with waste materials from the recycling stores. In these stores there are massive quantities of coat hangers in circulation. They are made of plastic and break quickly.

Expected results

  • Develop an alternative coat hanger made of paper, pressed textile, a mix of plastic and textile ...
  • Discuss with the client how this coat hanger can be produced in an easily accesible way (costs, staff training ...)

Practical

  • Suitable for a team of approx. 2 students (bachelor- and master level)
  • Estimated duration of 12 weeks) (1 semester)
